The Abandoned Toybox is the first cave found in the Wistful Wild of Pikmin 251, and the first explored in the game. It is short and serves primarily as a tutorial on cave exploration much like the Emergence Cave from Pikmin 2. There are P2 Poko icon.png × 570 worth of treasures split between three treasures. No boss exists in the Abandoned Toybox, but some dwarf bulborbs call this cave home. Together, enemies are worth P2 Poko icon.png × 24 if brought to the research pod.

How to Reach

The entrance is found in a corner Northeast from the landing site, near the Overgrown Parasol. To reach it, the player must weigh down a paper bag with forty Yellow Pikmin if they do not take the extra time to weigh down another bag with seventy Pikmin. Afterwards, they will face the first enemies capable of actually harming Pikmin. With minimum casualties, the player will have around seventy Pikmin to bring into the Abandoned Toybox on day two, if all available resources are brought to the onion.

Sublevel 1

After an introduction cutscene, the player will find Dwarf Painted Bulborbs scattered throughout a dark room. They are not particularly dangerous Both treasures can be found in alcoves.

Sublevel 2

The casino theme is first introduced here, alongside Orange Pikmin and their respective candypop bud. Sublevel two presents the only mandatory use of these Pikmin, in the form of unique explosion-producing obstacles known as blast pipes. Pikmin will perish on contact with the orange energy The energy produced by these pipes, and leaders can be flung around by them. Once disabled, one can easily claim the Whimsical Radar and leave with little hassle. Thew newly acquired Orange Pikmin will remain underground while the main squad exits, much like juvenile Bulbearmin. The reason (as explained by Hocotate Ship) has to do with the fact that the space for Pikmin in the ship's hull after having already designated it for White Pikmin and Purple Pikmin, despite neither having been rediscovered at this point.
