The Aqua Cannon Beetle Larva is a variant of the Armored Cannon Beetle Larva appearing in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze, distinguishable by its small head and comparatively wide body and snout. Appearing rarely, this lithopod remains seated in place and periodically spits out giant bubbles. Unlike the Armored Cannon Beetle Larva's boulders, these bubbles are spat out in an arc and bounce upon hitting the ground. Pikmin can be trapped inside the bubble, and although they are released once the bubble impacts a wall, they run around drowning upon exit. Blue Pikmin won't drown but can still be trapped inside, whereas Burr Pikmin pop the bubbles on contact with their sharp thorns. When the Aqua Cannon Beetle Larva shakes off Pikmin, water gushes from the holes lining the front of its body.
