Attacks Smashes with stone tips on tentacles

Barnagons are humongous Starnacle relatives that live on rocks in the ocean. They appear mainly in the Creature's Quay area on the larger stone platforms. The Barnagon is a large Starnacle with blue tentacles tipped with stones, a grey body with yellow flaps, and a large orange eye that has a red outline around it's urn shaped pupil.

The Barnagon swivels it's eye around to spot potential threats, upon spotting the Captains and Pikmin at which point it will swing it's tentacles around, occasionally slamming them onto the ground to crush up to five Pikmin. Rock Pikmin, whilst immune to the rocks, aren't able to smash the hard stone of the tentacles. The body is invincible, the tentacles can take minimal damage, but the eye is the weakest part of the body. Once the Barnagon is killed, the stones shatter and the Barnagon's eye sinks into the body alongside the tentacles, leaving the body to be taken.

Notes

Olimar's Notes

"Related to Starnacles, the Barnagon is a lumbering creature that latches onto rocks above the salty ocean water. The Barnagon has sticky tips on it's arms that collect pieces of sediments from the seafloor and uses small rocks to quickly condense it into makeshift stone clubs for smashing predators in."

Louie's Notes

"Fillet the super long tentacles into thick slices, boil them in salty water and grill within tin-foil. Best served with cocktail sauce and shredded pepper jack."

Trivia

  • Notably, the creature only attacks creatures it's swiveling eye sees, as such, the Barnagon can be bypassed if you sneak past the creature's line of sight, perfect for a surprise attack.
