Birch Forest is the second area discovered in Pikmin: Spider Attack. It is a simple forest that spans thirty-five miles from one side to another, consists of only birch trees, giving the location its name, and has gentle hills. It has more content than Grassland Hill, as well as a higher quantity of more difficult enemies. Yellow Pikmin and Brown Pikmin are discovered here: the former is at the left side of the main tree, and the latter is next to the right of the first tree encountered. Birch Forest has one cave, Cave Den, where Blue Pikmin are discovered.
One of Birch Forest's treasures, the Holder of the Giants, requires three Yellow Pikmin to activate an electrical box on a tree. Throwing some on either side causes the box to open, revealing the treasure. The tree catches fire after thirty seconds of the box opening, however, so the process of retrieving the treasure must be fast.
