Appearance in Pikmin 3. |
Climbing sticks are obstacles that are somewhat similar to bridges but are used only by empty-handed Pikmin and not by leaders, or Pikmin carrying objects. Some climbing sticks need to be built, while others are already built.
In fanon media, leaders can also use climbing sticks. Furthermore, also in fanon media, the rusted rod from Hey! Pikmin is considered a variant of the climbing stick, in that Pikmin must set them up and they and leaders can climb them.

In fanon games
Below this point is where users place their version of climbing sticks.
In Pikmin: Decayed Leaf
This article or section presents information pertaining to Pikmin: Decayed Leaf, a fanon game created by Soundwave. |
Climbing sticks are a returning obstacle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The stick piles can be constructed by Pikmin attacking them. Once constructed, Pikmin can climb these sticks in order to access higher areas, with some types climbing faster than others. Along with this, another variant, the rusty rod, is also present. Pikmin that attack this rod will cause it to rise into the air. Once fully erected, captains can use this rod to climb up to areas they can not normally reach. Sometimes, these two variants may be found near each other.
In Pikmin: Dual Worlds
This article or section presents information pertaining to Pikmin: Dual Worlds, a fangame created by MintyMoron64. |
In Pikmin: Dual Worlds, climbing sticks are essentially the same as it is in Pikmin 3, though with some differences: they can be level and be traversed both ways if both ends are freely accessible, and enemies the size of a sheargrub or smaller can traverse them. Climbing sticks appear in both variants of Feverpitch Forest, in Flamenco Forest, in both variants of Salem Swamp, and in Hive Havoc.
In Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers
This article or section presents information pertaining to Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers, a fanon game created by CarrotStilts1. |
In Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers, climbing sticks appear as they did in Pikmin 3. However, those found within caves lack the leaf on their end.
