The Crested Snagret is a species of snavian with a red crested head similar to a cardinal. It can often use Fire elemental attacks.

A snagret with a very large beak with a black stripe, crimson red feathers, and a black and red striped scaly body with red feathery ridges on its back. When it burrows out from the ground, it shoots out a small wave of fire from where it pokes out, which can burn pikmin, and it can also spit out a ball of fire after emerging from the ground instead of eating pikmin, which burns pikmin in an area around where it lands. But, the fireball can be avoided by staying away from where the snagret looks at when shooting the fireball. Upon reaching 1/2 health, all of its fire attacks affect a larger area, and it will use less fire attacks if your pikmin are primarily Red Pikmin or fire-resistant hosted Green Pikmin. When defeated, the Crested Snagret lets out a loud squawk and a burst of (harmless) flame, and collapses, revealing a bright blue foot with orange-red talons. It appears as the boss of the Quicksand Hole, and appears later with less health and without the 1/2 health increase in strength as a miniboss in other caves, although it is hypothetically possible to encounter it in these caves before beating it as a boss.

- “This species of snagret has evolved a large bill and feathered ridges to ward off heat. But, seeing as they are so large, these adaptions alone don't solve the problem completely. This is where its unique hunting tactic comes into play. It collects excess heat and emits bursts of superheated air, which ignite flammable particulates in the air of underground areas it lives in, creating "fireballs" which it uses to debilitate large prey before biting with its much stronger beak. Although, this lifestyle hasn't seemed to cut down its appetite for Pikmin.”

- “Chop off the head and leg, slice down the back to debone without damaging the flesh. Then, stuff in your favorite exotic spice blend or stuffing recipe, and steam until spontaneous combustion. Make sure to choose something that pairs well with the taste of smoke.”
