Family Pikmin

Decor Pikmin are special Pikmin that have the same function as regular Pikmin but wear decorative outfits. Decor Pikmin are obtained by growing a huge seedling, by leveling up a Pikmin's friendship level to four hearts and sending it on an expedition to find its gift, or by other means. The detector is useful for finding Decor Pikmin seedlings.

The decor a Pikmin wears corresponds mainly to a real-world geographical location, which often yields one type of Decor Pikmin but can yield more. However, decor may not always correspond to a location alone, but rather its weather. Furthermore, some Decor Pikmin can only be obtained from special events or as a reward for accomplishing a specific task. When grown from a seedling, a Decor Pikmin will have a random type upon reaching maturity, and random decor should its place of origin yield more than one kind of decor. Decor Pikmin can have rare variants that often have different or more vibrant coloration and may have a distinct visual effect such as sparkling.

Pikmin 2... Again?

What if it was another story...?
This article or section pertains to Pikmin 2... Again?, a fanon game created by Blower Pot.

Reskins are one of the main features customizations in Pikmin 2... Again?. They were first introduced in The Amazing New Update!! as a permanent feature. Reskins can be bought in the customization menu's shop with blue sparklium and applied to Pikmin and leaders. However, four reskins are bought with negative sparklium, gained through a secret: the Boloroborb, Piglin, Error_Pikmin, and Error_Captain. Reskins are merely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay directly, but upon using a reskin with an appearance too similar to another, a warning will appear, asking if the player is sure they want to make the change and that it may cause confusion.

When applying reskins, a list of Pikmin types and every leader will be shown, displaying all owned reskins compatible with them. Some reskins are compatible with every Pikmin type; for example, P3 Pikmin changes the Pikmin to a Pikmin 3-like style, giving them a realistic appearance but the same design color, with few exceptions. However, many reskins are compatible with a select number of Pikmin types, as few as only a single one. This feature gives players more freedom and fun, letting them customize characters as they please.

The reskins are based on the graphics of the Pikmin games and the Pikmin reskin icon is represented by a white, sketchy Pikmin with black outlines. It has a round head, rectangular body, two dots for eyes, stick arms and legs, and straight stem. For graphical reskins, this example Pikmin holds a large purple "G" for graphics, but progressively gets tired of holding it for each graphic reskin, until it drops the letter at the walking Pikmin reskin icon.
