The Desiccated Skitter Leaf is a hostile skitterling that disguises itself as a withered leaf. When scared out of hiding, it scuttles around with great speed and can snatch a Pikmin with its claws and devour it within a split second. However, they are afraid of leaders, so if one gets close, whether accompanied by Pikmin or not, it will remain hidden; if a leader touches one that is hiding, it will break its disguise and run away in a panic, but may still try to eat Pikmin. Although agile, Desiccated Skitter Leaves are extremely frail and will die instantly if a Pikmin is thrown on top of one.

Desiccated Skitterleaves appear in Pikmin: Infection in Progress, littered about Polluted Creek and Withering Terrace. A Desiccated Skitterleaf disguises as a dead leaf when idle to fool potential prey. When approached by Pikmin, however, a Desiccated Skitterleaf will quickly rise and begin its assault. They are afraid of the President and will retain their disguise until he touches them, causing them to flee in terror.
Desiccated Skitterleaves possess red eyes, and clawed appendages that serve as both camouflage and limbs to eat their prey. Desiccated Skitterleaves also possess a yellow fleshy abdomen on the underside of their main leaf.
When initiated into combat, Desiccated Skitterleaves tend to swipe at the nearest Pikmin to eat them first, and knocking away and depetaling others that it fails to grab. Larger targets, like the President, can not be eaten; instead, he is knocked down for a short time. The President can not assist in carrying the corpse of a deceased Desiccated Skitterleaf due to it being so light.
