Doom essence, known sometimes as doominus, is a common hazard appearing in Pikmin: Doomed Time, pivotal to the story and capable of corrupting PNF-404's native lifeforms. Aboveground, it appears in Katumbra Plains and Volampious Wild, and underground, it appears in Cavern of Heroes, Remembrance Hall, and Doom's Stronghold. Pikmin that touch doom essence may either be poisoned or turned into Doom Pikmin. Doom essence is also capable of manifesting itself as autonomous entities, as seen with Pikdoom.
