Family Chrysanthemum

The Flytrap Chrysanthemum is a member of the chrysanthemum family found in the files of Hey! Pikmin. It would have hidden in the ground and disguised itself as mere vegetation, and ambushed any leaders and Pikmin that approached by emerging from the ground and attacking them. When its prey fled far enough, it would have returned to its original location and disguised itself once more.

Attacks Eats Pikmin

The Flytrap Chrysanthemum is a carnivorous plant appearing in Pikmin Z. It resembles the Creeping Chrysanthemum in multiple aspects, but it lacks any flowers and its mouth is fully exposed rather than hidden. Its underbody is yellowish in color, and its mouth is dark grey. Typically, these creatures don't hold too much of a threat as they don't attack leaders or Pikmin unless they get too close. The best way to kill a Flytrap Chrysanthemum is to throw Pikmin at its stalk until the creature pulls itself out of the ground, then overwhelming the creature until it dies. Clover Pikmin are not recommended as they're at the highest risk of being eaten.

Biology

The Flytrap Chrysanthemum is believed to be the descendent of the Creeping Chrysanthemum. It is an ambush predator, and when a small flying enemy gets close to its flower, it will bite down and eat the unsuspecting creature.

Piklopedia entry

"I've heard rumors of carnivorous plants on PNF-404, but I never truly thought they existed until I saw this creature. According to some history and through Olimar's past notes, I've concluded that the flytrap chrysanthemum is a possible descendent of the creeping chrysanthemum. It lies in wait, staying completely still with its mouth wide open, waiting until a small creature flies close until it strikes like a waiting snagret. Simple, yet effective."
