Forum:About the Community Game...

So, as you may know, on the leaf template on the Ranks page, it says, "Users that are this rank or higher can work on the Community Game." With the "Community Game" Being a dead link. When I first saw it, I thought it was a idea that never took off. Later, I saw a forum post about it being a RPG. Soon after, that I looked at the list of fanon games and saw one called Pikmin RPG. Clicking on it, I saw the words: "Pikmin RPG is the first community game created by Pikmin Fanon users." I'm guessing that this is the community game that the Ranks page the forum post were talking about. It hasn't been updated since last year, and appears to be dead. I think we should revive it, since it's a great idea and it would encourage users to edit more. Any thoughts? Kaplop 20:46, 5 September 2015 (EDT)

Also, heres a link to the forum post I was talking about. --Kaplop 20:46, 5 September 2015 (EDT)

Yeah, that's the one. The thing is, that was an idea created a long time ago when the wiki was extremely active. There were a ton of users around who were busily creating fangames and whatnot, so on the IRC channel, we had an idea to make a community fangame. Seeing as most users edit for only a couple months before disappearing, I'm not too sure that they would even bother to edit it. They hardly work on their fangames anyway... I check the wiki every day even if I don't edit, and I know that Scruffy and En Passant are active and will probably continue to be active, and then you've been fairly active, too. Besides us four, I'm not sure that there will be any long-term users who'd be willing to work on the community fangame. If you want to promote it, that's fine, but all I'm saying is that users might not be interested. ~PikFan23 (Admin) 21:26, 5 September 2015 (EDT)

Hmm. Maybe if we put a link/advertisement of it on the main page, more people would see it. I mean, the only way people can see it right now is the fan games page, and up there, it's easy to miss it, or think it's just another game. --Kaplop 18:52, 7 September 2015 (EDT)
