A fragment bridge is a type of bridge made entirely of varying numbers of ceramic fragments or glass shards. To build a bridge, Pikmin must carry fragments over to it, which they then put into place. The fragments themselves are typically clustered together in one or more piles of a matching color corresponding to the bridge they are used to construct, though they can also be encased in crystal or unearthed from dirt mounds, or used to construct something such as a platform rather than the usual bridge. Once all fragments are delivered, the bridge or platform is completed. Some fragments bridges may be already partially or fully completed by the time they're encountered. Because these bridges are made of a hard material, enemies can not destroy them as they can wooden bridges.

In Pikmin 3, unfinished bridges slant slightly upwards, and leaders can not cross past the last row of fragments. Also, fragment bridges fall into place when completed, which can knock leaders over if they are standing too close, but leaders on the bridge proper will not be knocked down.

In Pikmin 4, fragment bridges are constructed with pieces of clay, converted from raw material, rather than generic fragments.

Fragment bridges are a returning obstacle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf as one of the two bridge types. The fragment bridge starts out unbuilt, and the only way to build the bridge is to find the large pile of bridge pieces linked to the bridge. There may be multiple piles of bridge pieces specific to said bridge. Pikmin must pick up and deliver the fragments to the bridge, throwing them on, to slowly construct it. Sometimes, enemies or hazards may be found guarding bridge fragments.
