The Golden Candypop Bud is a yellow-petaled candypop bud that behaves just like any other candypop bud but changes Pikmin thrown into them into Yellow Pikmin. Yellow Pikmin that are thrown in are reverted to the leaf stage and don't count against the five-Pikmin limit per candypop bud.
