The Hysterical Beetle is a member of the kettlebug family that has a loud, ear-piercing whistle which scares Pikmin in its range into a panic. Though harmless on its own, it can be troublesome if dealing with other enemies or around hazards. Additionally, the Loot Detector malfunctions when one of these is nearby. The presence of a Hysterical Beetle can be told by its signature quiet giggling, which escalates into its ear-piercing call whenever it whistles.
