The Obsidian Periscorp is a mini-boss introduced in Pikmin V, and a larger relative of the Glossy Periscorp. Its increased size puts its head out of range of throws under normal circumstances. The only time it is vulnerable is when it lunges with its shovel-like claws to trap Pikmin: the head will droop momentarily from the momentum, and if it successfully traps some, it will slouch its head down while eating them off three at a time.
