Plot
Seven years after Olimar's, Louie's, and the President's trip to collect treasure on the Pikmin Planet, Hocotate Freight is now a highly successful five-star galactic shipping company. But after several long years, a dangerous problem arises. On Olimar's son's sixteenth birthday, he gets a shiny new telescope. That night, he looks into the night sky to look for stars, but not only did he see stars, he sees a black hole. He runs to his father and describes what he saw. Olimar then runs to the President and explains that there is a black hole that is growing fast, and the President then orders a seven-captain trip to find parts to fight off the black hole but doesn't know where to start. The newly built ship, the Hocotate S.S. PIKMIN-RYBPW MK III, starts flashing and says "I have found 125 space parts on the Pikmin Planet. KRRZZZT!!!!! Danger! Data shows that the Pikmin Planet is in extreme danger!! The Pikmin are in need of leaders quickly! I think we should leave at dawn to head to the Pikmin Planet. I can hold 7 captains." At dawn, the seven captains leave for the Planet of the Pikmin.
