The Toxic Blowhog appears in Pikmin 251 as a close relative of the Watery Blowhog. It wanders idly around in a triangular pattern until Pikmin or leaders walk close enough by it. It will then slightly inflate before unleashing a jet of poison gas at them, an attack only White Pikmin are resistant to.
The Toxic Blowhog is a rotund, elephantine creature identical in appearance to the Fiery Blowhog except for its purple-tipped trunk.
Although it spews poison, a Toxic Blowhog can be killed easily by any Pikmin type. Swarming is often the optimal strategy, but pay attention to when it prepares to buck Pikmin off of itself, especially if it is facing a pit.
Notes
Olimar's observations
- “While the Fiery Blowhog didn't seem any different for this journey, this all new variety makes up for it. It appears to expel toxic gas instead of fire or liquid. I wonder where these creatures were on my last visit, and why I haven't seen the water based ones anywhere.”
Cookin' with Louie
- “Inedible. The stench of this creature's poison sack is enough to make you gag.”

The Poisonous Blowhog is a species of blowhog appearing in Pikmin: The After Years. It looks almost exactly like its land-based relatives but it has a purple snout and eyes. It attacks by spewing a stream of poison at its foes. White Pikmin are useful for fighting them because of their immunity to poison but are not required. Purple Pikmin can also be effective because of their ability to stun.

Attacks | Poisons Pikmin |
The Munge Blowhog is a species of blowhog appearing in Pikmin: Spark. They behave and look the same as the other two elemental blowhogs, the Fiery Blowhog and Watery Blowhog, with the main exception being that they spew poisonous gas from their purple-snouted trunk. This means that White Pikmin should be used to help takes these toxic creatures down. Interestingly, they have slightly less health than the other two types of elemental blowhogs, perhaps to compensate for the White Pikmin's low attacking power.
Notes
Abel's medical journal
- “To a Pikmin, its gas is essentially cyanide, but to us, it can be a rejuvenating if potent numbing agent good for surgeries.”
Lyn's sale review
- “Have an ache in your body? Take this chemical, mix it with paste, rub it with a soft towel, then rest to allow the chemicals to do their stuff.”
PIX's creature scan
- “Species of the blowhog family that spews a chemical that releases toxins in the air. Eats a diet of moss and small bugs and shoots this chemical in defense. Seems to have thinner skin than the other subspecies.
- Habitat: swamps
- Niche: omnivore
- Maturity age: 5 years
- Average lifespan: 24 years
- Breeding season: summer”

Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This species of blowhog is similar to the fiery blowhog in most respects. The main difference between these two kinds of blowhogs is that the chemical released by the poisonous blowhog reacts with the air the instant it is expelled, creating a gas poisonous to most Pikmin. White Pikmin, however, are only knocked over by the noxious jet.”
Louie's notes
- “This specimen is extremely delicious upon immediate consumption, although long-term effects may include severe stomach pains and excessive burping.”
