In Pikmin X: Deep Freeze, the Ranged Groink is similar to the Gatling Groink, but never wanders; it only ever stays mounted in place, sitting atop a bed of crystal. It also has a much greater attacking distance and can gun down Pikmin from afar without having to leave its sentry position. First, it aims with a red laser, similar to the Man-at-Legs, then it fires three high-velocity explosive projectiles at its target in quick succession. Leaders and Pikmin can easily avoid the attack by taking cover, then charging in to attack while the creature reloads. Rock Pikmin can also shatter the creature's facial shield, exposing more of its body to attack. The Ranged Groink can not revive itself after death.
