Reinforced gates, also known as stone gates, are less destructible than ordinary gates. Pikmin can not attack these stone walls, and if they are made to try, they will just tap their stems at them for a bit before sighing and giving up. Depending on the type and color of a reinforced gate, a number of bomb rocks must detonate near one in order to take it down. Some reinforced gates in Pikmin 3 feature murals on the pillars supporting them.

In Pikmin V, reinforced gates come in two forms: lighter stone walls, a white reinforced gate destroyable with three bomb rocks or one big bomb rock, and darker blackstone walls, a black reinforced gate that requires nine regular bomb rocks or three big bomb rocks to destroy. Stone walls may also appear as rusted walls, which are made of rusted metal. All three kinds form cracks as they take damage, rather than recede into the ground.

Only one reinforced gate appears in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs, at the Land of Wonders. It is camouflaged, embedded within a rock wall, can be broken by repeated hits from Purple Pikmin, and destroying it grants access to the Hidden Territory.

Reinforced gates appear in Pikmin: The Winds of Light. They look the same as they do in Pikmin 1, and come in white, gray, and black varieties, which respectively require three, six, and nine bomb rocks to destroy. Volatile Dweevils may also be used to destroy reinforced gates, and their bomb rock equals the explosion power of three ordinary bomb rocks. Additionally, reinforced gates may also be destroyed through special circumstances.
