Spike Pikmin are a species of Pikmin discovered in Pikmin: Attack of DeathSpike. They are very spiky and are able to latch on to their prey. Spike Pikmin are the only Pikmin that are immune to DeathSpike Fragments.
Abilities
Spike Pikmin can latch on to prey with its spiky hands, with a 50% chance of their prey getting poisoned when latched on to. Spike Pikmin also have a chance to cause damage when eaten.

It seems as if its ancestors knew this would be happening and therefore they were able to start evolving into these new Spike Pikmin.
