The Spiked Electrocution Breadbug is the boss of the Spark Territory in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs. It has a hard 'shell', similar to that of Brown Sugar Breadbugs, but cannot be broken. Its soft stomach is its only weak point. It resembles a regular Giant Breadbug, but has claws on its feet and back. Due to this and its ability to conduct static electricity, the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug can walk up walls and onto ceilings to land on unsuspecting prey. To fight the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug, Captain Olimar and his group of Pikmin must enter its den, that is strangely placed on a wall. The Spiked Electrocution Breadbug's den can be told apart from the environment because it dimly glows yellow, and creates faint crackling sounds. Upon entering its den, a staircase leads to the ground can be scaled, along with the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug that can be seen slowly walking around the area. The den is rectangular in shape, having rounded corners for the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug to scale the walls and ceiling. When the legs of the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug are swarmed, however, it will utter a grunt and scale the walls. Once it reaches the ceiling and falls to the ground, its weight combined with soft ground and its spikes will cause it to become stuck halfway into the ground; use this time to attack its stomach. After one-fourth of the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug's health is gone, it will enter its second stage: electrifying itself only when standing up. It can be damaged with any Pikmin type when it falls. After one-half of the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug's health is gone, it will begin electrifying itself only while stuck in the ground, forcing Captain Olimar to use Yellow Pikmin to attack it. When three-fourths of its health is gone, the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug will electrify itself at all times until it is killed. Once the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug is killed, it dies as a Giant Breadbug would. Its corpse can only be carried by Yellow Pikmin as it is still electrified after death. This trait is shared with the Freezerburnt Breadbug.

Trivia

  • The Spiked Electrocution Breadbug's den is the only Breadbug den accessible in any of the Pikmin games.
  • The Spiked Electrocution Breadbug will only walk on the floor of the den until it is attacked.
  • When the Spiked Electrocution Breadbug falls from the ceiling, its shadow can be seen. Avoid it to prevent unneeded Pikmin loss.
