Stump Grotto is the eighth cave in Pikmin: The War of the Pikmin Planet. It is located in the roots of an old tree at Waterfall Lake.
Sublevel 1
- Enemies:
There are a few puddles of water here, one of which houses a Toady Bloyster. Defeat it to obtain the key.
Sublevel 2
- Enemies:
- Blue Bulborbs × 3
- Water Dumple × 5
- Hermit Crawmad × 4
A small sea covers this sublevel. There are a few large tree stumps around, however. To obtain the key and unlock the next sublevel, defeat the three Blue Bulborbs because one of them has the key.
Sublevel 3
This sublevel is very dark and hard to see. It is also small, so it is easy to get caught off guard. To obtain the key and unlock the next sublevel, defeat the Goolarva because it holds the key.
Sublevel 4
- Enemies:
This sublevel is dimly lit with glowcaps. A new enemy, the Puffstool, is in the middle of the area. Puffstools can spore Pikmin, turning them into Mushroom Pikmin, causing them to fight you. The overgrown fungus holds the key.
Sublevel 5
- Enemies:
An old foe, the Burrowing Snagret, lurks somewhere on this sublevel. New enemies, Sheartwigs, can also be found here. Sheartwigs have more health than Shearwigs but are slower.

- Orange Bulborbs × 3
- Dwarf Orange Bulborbs × 6
- Volatile Dweevils × 10

This sublevel consists of one toughest boss to defeat. It is safe for your Pikmin to stay away from the Snavian's large beak and pummel it when it gets stuck in the ground. Also, there are a few bomb rocks around, so try to throw them at it with Orange Pikmin. Once the annoying hybrid is defeated, it drops half of a valve. The other half is in the Maroon Maze. If you acquire both, you can enter the Rusty Pipeworks.
