The Twisted Sheargrub is an oversized Male Sheargrub that has been mutated due to radioactive waste. One resides on the final floor of the Gnarled Undergrowth and is accompanied by ten Male Sheargrubs. It holds the Marvelous Communicator. In addition to eating Pikmin, the Twisted Sheargrub can also create a flammable chemical in its abdomen, which it uses to defend itself from attackers. It combusts when exposed to oxygen, causing its hide to be cloaked in fire and giving the Twisted Sheargrub the ability to spew a jet of flames from its mouth. The Twisted Sheargrub has an orange body and a pair of large purple eyes, which helps to distinguish it from a normal Male Sheargrub apart from its sheer size. It is advised that Red Pikmin are used to battle the creature due to its fiery attacks. Purple Pikmin are also effective against it.
