Ujadani are very small, orange bugs that scuttle about in swarms of many. Upon closer examination, they appear to have tiny scuttling feet before their bulbous backs. The creatures can be attacked similarly to the way Pikmin attack rubble and nectar weed and doing so results in the insects releasing vast quantities of nectar and spray drops. Non-White Pikmin are affected by the poison the swarms release when attacked. The insects rarely attack, however, so it's possible to beat all insects without any non-White Pikmin being poisoned.

The Ujadani beetles return in Pikmin: Infection in Progress, and appear in most areas for environmental purposes. An exceptionally large amount of Ujadani beetles appear in Withering Terrace, and lesser swarms appear in Noxious Expanse, Polluted Creek, and Toxic Barrens. It should be noted that the Ujadani in Fungal Grotto have a slight luminosity to them. They are ignored by all creatures and even crawl onto them sometimes. Ujadani beetles cannot attack or be attacked in Pikmin: Infection in Progress.

Infection's Cause (contains spoilers)
Their queen is the final boss of the game.

Ujadani are the main cause of the infection that has critically altered and weakened the Distant Planet. Previously being nothing more than a way to farm vast amounts of Nectar and Sprays in Pikmin 2, Ujadani beetles have unintentionally caused an epidemic that had infected, altered, and mutated wildlife and spread its plague across the Pikmin Planet. Although the numbers of Ujadani beetles had decreased significantly throughout Pikmin 2, the population skyrocketed during the events of Pikmin 3, and climaxed during Pikmin: Infection in Progress. The amount of altered wildlife had risen higher and higher the larger the Ujadani population got. Most of the wildlife encountered on PNF-404 have been severely affected by the highly-contagious disease the Ujadani have passed.

Few species are either naturally immune or simply carriers of the virus. Some of these specimens are the Withering Blowhog and Phosbats. Other species have ultimately weakened or gained strengths, or have remained neutral. Some examples are the Ghoulish Snitchbug, Vampiric Bulbears and their young, and the Undead Water Dumple respectively.
