Notes

Olimar's Notes

Research from our most recent expedition has confirmed the presence of candypop buds in subterranean regions. Considering the micro-ecologies this plant has been found in, one could surmise that it could be found in any cavern, regardless of geographic region. Tossing Pikmin into this flower results in the release of purple Pikmin seeds, regardless of the color of the Pikmin tossed in. This variety of candypop contains robustly odoriferous oils. If candypop flowers could be cultivated, there is no doubt that the plants would offer multifaceted benefits to the cosmetic, medical, and tourist industries.

Louie's Notes

This convenient purple flower secretes a dark, flavorful oil that eliminates the need for salad dressing!

These are very rare, but aren't useful until the second-half of the game when Olimar returns.

Pikmin: A New Journey

They function the exact same as they did in Pikmin 2, except there is a very small chance a Rare Purple Pikmin will come out instead of a normal one.

Violet Candypop Buds appear in the game, Pikmin: The Bulblaxian War, although they aren't as important, since the ship acts like an onion for them. They can be found in Curious Cove.

Violet Candypop Bud

Flora puniceus

Candypop Family

This flower always produces one purple pikmin for each pikmin thrown in. As I have not been able to return a specimen, I have been unable to see how it does this. Perhaps it had the purple pikmin there in the first place and is just eating the ones thrown in?

Ship's Notes

This flower maybe injects into a thrown-in pikmin a purple pigment that alters the pikmin's color and attributes. Further study shall be conducted with a pellet posy pellet and this specimen.

Violet Candypop Bud

Flora puniceus

Candypop Family

These flowers have the strange ability to change the colors of Pikmin. Perhaps it applies some sort of pigment that alters the bodily functions and (obviously) the color of Pikmin thrown in. Research shall continue later.

Areas Land of Wonders, in the Loaf Territory
Seed worth 10

Violet Candypop Buds can be found distributed throughout the Loaf Territory. They can be found in groups of one to two. Each of them can transform ten Pikmin into Purple Pikmin if they are not already that color. After changing ten non-Purple Pikmin, the Violet Candypop Bud will wilt and disappear. They regenerate every three days.
