The Acidic Clamclamp is a clamclamp that can only be attacked using Green Pikmin because of its acidic drool and saliva. Like other clamclamps such as the Pearly Clamclamp, the Acidic Clamclamp sits in one spot, with its mouth open and its pearl exposed. When Pikmin are thrown onto its tongue to attack the membrane surrounding its pearl, the Acidic Clampclamp will open its mouth even wider with a groan, pause, and then snap its mouth shut, chewing and eating any Pikmin left on its tongue. After that, the Acidic Clamclamp will open its mouth again and render its pearl vulnerable to attack once more.
The Acidic Clamclamp bears an intimidating appearance. Its shell is layered in appearance, with the layer closest to its mouth being the greenest and the layer farthest from its mouth being completely black. The creature also has four fangs, one pair on either of its two halves. The fangs are purely decorative and cannot skewer Pikmin. Its tongue is light green and its pearl is pink. The membrane surrounding the pearl is green.
Because the only time an Acidic Clamclamp attacks is when Pikmin are in its mouth, battles against them are a matter of timing. Throw Green Pikmin into the Acidic Clamclamp's mouth so they attack the membrane surrounding its pearl, calling them back when the creature is about to snap shut. Repeat this process until the membrane is destroyed, and have Green Pikmin carry the pearl out of its mouth. This pearl can be taken to an Onion to gain fifty Pikmin seeds or to the Research Pod to gain × 50.
