Attacks Causes panic

The Aureate Blinnow is an enemy in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. It is similar to a Puckering Blinnow, but its skin is of a beautiful, sheening golden color, its fin is a deep red, and the spots and back markings are a deeper shade of green. Its eyes are green with lilac irises, and there are a pair of tusk-like tubes curled around them. The creature's beak is shorter than the Puckering Blinnow's and is unfit for eating Pikmin. Overall, it resembles a golden trout.

Living in shaded areas where its skin can't reflect so much light, the Aureate Blinnow is content with swimming about and eating mosses in the water. When Pikmin or leaders approach, it panics and jets away using ink from the tubes on its head. This ink makes Pikmin panic but dissipates quickly. If defeated, its body can be recovered to gain a massive stockpile of Pikmin seeds or Pokos; however, once spooked, it will eventually burrow into the ground, not reappearing until five days pass. It can be seen as a direct parallel to the Vortexive Paimourse, which is large, dangerous, and chases after Pikmin in excitement.

Notes

Olimar's notes

This beautiful elips has golden scales. The scales are iridescent and most certainly shiny. Unfortunately for it, this reflective creature has to hide in the shadows in order to not inadvertently give away its location. Interestingly, it can produce ink, similar to toady bloysters and sputtlefishes.

Louie's notes

YES! This magnificent fish has an alluring color and reflective sheen. The meat itself tastes like any other fish, but the reflectiveness of the meat will sell it anyway. I should see somebody about making a special dish combined with a desk lamp that makes it stand out especially.

Ship's comments

As a treasure appraiser, I actually have a soft-spot for this lil' bugger. The golden scales are just so pretty! I just have to keep this discovery under wraps. If my superior learns that some creatures on this planet are naturally golden... we might never be able to leave!
