A bait berry is an unused but functional object in Pikmin 3 that somewhat resembles an ultra-spicy berry or a real-world tomato. They are used to distract nearby Kakureimos and Painted Whiskerpillars, which rush over to and then eat them upon getting close enough. Bait berries can be picked up by Pikmin in a similar manner to bomb rocks. When a Pikmin sets down a bait berry it is carrying, the berry will splat on the ground, although it will return to its original state upon being interacted with by either of the two aforementioned enemies.
