The Ball-and-Chain Knightivlet appears in Pikmin: Dual Worlds as a miniboss of the knightivlet species. It somewhat resembles a Darkhammer from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and wields non-standard weaponry in the form of a ball-and-chain. Ball-and-Chain Knightivlets attack primarily by swinging their weapon in a circle around them and gradually releasing more of the chain as its speed increases and the momentum becomes more stable, but will eventually tire, becoming vulnerable to attack. If a Pikmin is thrown onto the Ball-and-Chain Knightivlet as it swings its weapon, it will panic and let go of the chain, sending its ball-and-chain flying until impacting a solid surface. When that occurs, the weapon creates a loud sound that invokes panic in Pikmin and produces a thick dust cloud created by the now-pulverized surface. Alternatively, at a distance, it may swing its ball-and-chain above its head and then release it deliberately towards its enemies, allowing it to attack them more effectively, but may also throw it at walls. When defeated, it drops its weapon and flees, and is later seen in the stands of the Swordmaster Knightivlet and Scorching Draconamite's phase three and four arena as one of the few cheering for the leaders and Pikmin.
