Biohazards are collectible objects that emit radiation, posing a hazard to the health of most living beings around them. In some fanon games, biohazards can radically alter their surrounding environments merely by being in them.

Biohazards are a type of hazardous collectible in Pikmin: Neo. They are strange substances created by Hoco-Minor's unstable crust and found deep within the planet. Biohazards take the form of multicolored stones with a bumpy texture and smoky complexion and start appearing after either thirty days have elapsed or two separate sanctums are destroyed and their boss monsters killed. Biohazards are dangerous as they can completely change the climate of the local area they reside in, such as changing a scorching desert into a freezing artic forest. This change in climate also changes the types of enemies that spawn causing rarer, more dangerous enemies to spawn outside their home biome. Due to this, biohazards must be neutralized to avoid an ecological catastrophe. Unfortunately, biohazards are radioactive, meaning that the radiation will choke and kill any nearby Pikmin even if they are dug up. The only Pikmin that are immune to this radiation are Bone Pikmin, as their calcium shells make them able to absorb the energy safely. Biohazards make a great source of Sparklium, so hunting for them would be a good opportunity to make a profit.
