Blast Pepperbugs are a species of breadbug in Pikmin 4: The World to Free that have been fitted with internal explosives. They will wander the area as a normal Breadbug would. However, Blast Pepperbugs lack the signature ability most breadbugs possess: the ability to drag objects. Instead, Blast Pepperbugs will slowly follow their target upon sighting them, though they will lose interest in their target if they wander too far away. When a Blast Pepperbug nears its target, however, it will begin to flash red and emit beeps, both of which increase in frequency after a few moments. About five seconds after activation, the Blast Pepperbug will take itself and its target out in a violent, fiery explosion. Note that when a Blast Pepperbug begins its countdown, it can not move, providing enough time to escape from the creature before it can cause any damage.
