The Bombardier Beetle is an insect appearing in Pikmin: Spark, where, alongside the other members of the scarab beetle family, they appear exclusively in dens. They resemble Anode Beetles, but their wing casings bear spots that are reddish-orange rather than yellow. Unlike other scarab beetles, Bombardier Beetles are solitary creatures that tend to not group with other members of their species, which is justified as the extremely potent chemical they squirt from their behind detonates upon contact with air to create a powerful explosion that instantly kills any Pikmin exposed to it. Also unlike other scarabs, it does not require another member of its species to be able to produce this chemical. Thankfully, while this chemical is extremely potent and dangerous, the explosion-resistant Goo Pikmin prove to be ideal to fight against this species.
