Brambles are plants that serve as obstacles and can grow over other obstacles to reinforce their integrity. They are covered in sharp thorns that prick inapt Pikmin, unprotected leaders, and most enemies that touch them, and usually must be destroyed through unconventional means such as fire.

Below this point is where users place their version of brambles.

Brambles are a new obstacle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The large, thorny vines may be wrapped around sublevel entrances or exits, around bramble gates or paths elsewhere, and even around treasures. Pikmin that try to damage a bramble will be knocked back, and possibly killed. Rock Pikmin, Weighted Pikmin, and Cactus Pikmin are immune to the spikes of the harsh brambles, but they still can not destroy the obstacle. The only way to take out the bramble is through a fire source. Using a fire starter will cause the brambles to burn to ash. Enemies like Fiery Blowhogs can also burn down brambles if they shoot in such a direction.

Brambles are an obstacle in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze that appears as reddish-brown tendrils with orange thorns, generally in thick patches or wrapped around something. The primary obstacle of the Vengeful Thicket, the thorns make touching these harmful to almost all Pikmin, which will be flung back from the pain with their flowers reduced to mere leaves. The hard bodies of Rock Pikmin are immune to brambles and can safely traverse across bramble-covered terrain. Leaders, however, can not safely touch brambles and will take steady damage from contact with them; though there is no suit upgrade that prevents bramble damage, the Metal Suit Z generally makes this hazard deal much less damage. Brambled gates also exist; unlike typical brambles, these are made of a less fireproof variety that can be cleared by using wickweeds on them.
