Attacks Eats Pikmin, attracts Bulblax Larvae

Bulblax Larvae are the offspring of greater, matriarchal grub-dogs such as, but not limited to, the Fiery Empress Bulblax. They are more dangerous than Bulbear Larvae, which, in turn, are more dangerous than Bulborb Larvae, being more resilient to damage, having better movement speed, and being able to eat up to two Pikmin at once. Bulblax Larvae congregate in swarms of eight to ten individuals, lurching aimlessly about their territory in search of prey. They may be by themselves, in the presence of a more mature bulblax, or congregated in large quantities around the empress bulblax that birthed them. When leaders or Pikmin draw near, the first Bulblax Larva to see them faces them before it hops in place and yips, alerting other Bulblax Larvae in its group to the presence of prey. The group then moves as one towards them to devour them, only returning to their idle behavior when their prey flees far enough away.

A Bulblax Larva does not exhibit many outstanding physical characteristics other than the typical bulblax facial structure, consisting of the usual bulborb facial features but with a bulbous snout. They have light skin, grey irises with white sclerae, and an almost completely white backside that is red at its farthest end and features a short, tail-like appendage that drags limply behind it. Bulblax Larvae do not have distorted facial features, but, depending on species, may develop them as they mature.

Although one of the strongest and most dangerous newborn grub-dogs, Bulblax Larvae are still relatively weak and can be easily disposed of with few or no casualties. In numbers, however, they are capable of devouring a great quantity of Pikmin due to their wider face and insatiable appetite. To make matters worse, successfully executing a sneak attack on a group of Bulblax Larvae is practically impossible due to their incredible perception, being able to see and smell approaching prey from quite a distance away. The optimal method to killing Bulblax Larvae is not to use Pikmin, but for leaders to punch them to death, with two or three hits from either getting the job done. Landing a single Pikmin on one's back kills it instantly, however, but requires exceptional skill in aiming Pikmin throws to avoid any casualties.
