The carbon virus is a type of infection appearing in Pikmin: Neo. Any creature that contacts the carbon fluid the virus calls home and does not immediately become assimilated with it will contract the carbon virus and develop pale eyes and a purple aura. They also become slightly larger and gain a passive health regeneration ability. They are much more aggressive, attacking anything that moves, and will even attack their own kind. They have twice the amount of health they usually have and have more intense battle music. Although infected creatures are tougher than their healthy counterparts, they yield many more seeds and sparklium. Creatures infected with the carbon virus also adopt an exploitable weakness to fire and electricity.
