Cardboard boxes are obstacles that usually block a pathway and take a minimum number of Pikmin to push. In Pikmin 1, each one needs ten Pikmin to move it and can be entered from the open end on the side. In Pikmin 3, cardboard boxes need twenty Pikmin to move them and can not be entered.

Cardboard boxes are a returning obstacle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The large boxes will be found blocking pathways or be found away from two separated pieces of land. If pushed by any Pikmin type, they will end up revealing an entrance or creating a permanent bridge for the group to cross. The cardboard box is essentially a larger version of a paper bag, as most of them require twenty or up to fifty Pikmin to push into place.
