The Caustic Slooch is a slooch in Pikmin 4 (Salem version) that utilizes water as a form of defense against predators. It is found slithering around idly in a small territory, which can be in water or on dry land. Water constantly pours from its body, causing it to leave behind a large yet harmless trail of it. Because it is always cloaked in water, Blue Pikmin must be used to defeat it.
The Caustic Slooch bears a striking resemblance to the Pyroclasmic Slooch, but with different coloration. It has electric-blue stripes, purple eyes, and an olive-green tongue.
Caustic Slooches never pose much of a threat unless leaders or their Pikmin pass by, where it will attempt to feed on them. They can either be swarmed or have Pikmin thrown onto them, but Blue Pikmin must be used to defeat them.

The Hydroclasmic Slooch is a semiaquatic slooch in Pikmin 44 that can survive both in and out of water. However, Pikmin will be unable to attack it from behind due to the hot steam it emits from its back, which means they must attack it from the front to do any damage. Be careful about its tongue, as it is still as deadly as its distant relative, the Pyroclasmic Slooch.
Notes
Collin's notes
- “The steam being emitted from the backside of this creature makes such an irritating hissing noise. Olimar tells me that there are tiny creatures living on its back. You would think they would file a noise complaint.”
Brittany's notes
- “An outfit that creates a trail of steam and fog would be so fun. I can imagine it would be very popular with magicians.”
Louie's notes
- “Place in pot and season with salt, curry powder, Hocotate onions, and peppers. Pour in water and let steam. Once finished, mix with tomato sauce for an aromatic slooch stew sauce.”
Alph's notes
- “Structural flaw: low speed / Weight: 3. Even Blue Pikmin are unable to attack through this creature's steamy armor, making it at its strongest when underwater. However, they become just as weak as their fiery counterpart when they emerge from it.”
Shepherd's notes
- “Its large tongue reminds me of a space pup. I miss Oatchi's cute little puppy licks.”
Charlie's notes
- “This foe is certainly at its most dangerous while underwater. If it's close enough, a viable strategy could be to lure it on land so you can defeat it more easily.”
Olimar's notes
- “Hydroclasmic Slooch / Sulucina fontes / Slooch family. While it may seem that the Hydroclasmic Slooch is just your average creature, it is much more complex than you would think. The hot steam on its back fosters entire ecosystems that thrive off the heat that it emits, meaning that upon its death, all the microscopic lifeforms die with it. I would say that's a lot of pressure, but I wonder if the Slooch is even aware of being a host for thousands.”

The Caustic Slooch is a species of slooch that appears in Pikmin E: Remastered. It is constantly cloaked in water, leaving a harmless trail of it behind itself as it moves around, meaning only Blue Pikmin can defeat it. Upon being bombarded with them, they will flop over in order to crush them under its weight. This is usually signaled by its stripes glowing a vibrant teal color, rather than its normal dark cyan. Upon defeat, it shrivels up, allowing for it to be carried much more easily. Due to the creature being essentially the same as its fire-weilding variant, Louie's notes for it are shared.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “Seemingly peaceful things at first glance, but be careful! It's actually quite the territorial creature, constantly patrolling the area it inhabits.”
