The Chrome Bloyster is a species of mollusking appearing in Pikmin: Spark as a miniboss. It is similar in appearance to the Ranging Bloyster but has a gray hide with a black flower-like bulb. It also displays similar behaviors, chasing after captains while its eyes glow the color of its target's beacon: gold for Abel, green for Lyn, and purple for PIX. However, when it switches targets, it also releases a magnetic field that pushes away all Pikmin surrounding it, making the boss hard to hit as it not only homes in on captains but also limits their resources. A trick to fighting this boss is to rapidly switch between the three captains to confuse the beast, making it unable to put up its magnetic field. Speed is the most important part of this fight, as the faster captains are cycled through, the more distracted the creature becomes. Upon death, it drops the Radar Distractor, a lump of lodestone worth × 285. In Ultra-Spicy Mode, it also repels inactive leaders by using another magnetic field.
