Kzzzzrt! What's these alien structures? Are they organic or artificial? Why are they so skeletal and white? Perhaps questions like these will be answered if we took a look inside this hole. My sensors are picking up readings of intensely-high pressure levels in this cave... Is it safe to go this deep? – The Ship's observations.

Collapsed Reef is the second cave in Creature's Quay in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. Although it starts similar to the area's first cave, Humpback Heights, later sublevels take place in bizarre chambers within the deep blue ocean. They have walls made of a thick, unbreakable crystal that allows seeing into the surrounding waters, and various vibrant pieces of coral serve as obstacles and protection.

How to reach

It is imperative that Blue Pikmin have been unlocked before attempting to reach the hole into this cave. In the big, circular area with the first Barnagon, there is a long land bridge leading to an island covered in bleached coral. This bridge dips into the water, even if the tide is at its lowest point, non-Blue Pikmin would be unable to cross unless the clog is destroyed, draining the water to a point where it will no longer obstruct them. This must be done to let Yellow Pikmin across, so they destroy an electric gate on the other side of the land bridge.

Sublevel 1

Similar to sublevel eight of the Dream Den, this sublevel is a giant spiraling chamber, with some water at the bottom and the leaders and their Pikmin at the top. Salty Armurks lurk in small corridors, with their rolling attacks being blocked by walls so they don't all fall into the center. The one closet to the bottom holds the Vampiric Victim, while the corridor the first one hides in leads to a chamber housing a Red Bulborb holding the Melty Ingot Lite. The water pool at the bottom houses a Hermit Crawmad that holds the Cetacean Skeleton. The hole to the next sublevel is behind the Research Pod.

Sublevel 2

This peanut-shaped room is the transitional area between the sea caves and the coral domes. The landing point has a pair of Watery Blowhogs, one of which has the Curdled Nut. Use Blue Pikmin to dispatch them. There is a hole in the wall blocked by a dirt gate. Behind this gate is a similar room where the walls are made of crystal. Fortunately, not even Rock Pikmin can shatter it, and the floor is made of sand rather than rock. A trio of unintrusive Seacaps rests along the walls, but most dangerously, four Water Dumples surround the hole forward. One of them has the Globular Taxidermy.

Sublevel 3

This sublevel is a massive circular chamber, taking place in what's essentially a natural biodome housing a forest of bright, healthy coral. Small dips of land are filled with water infested with Tropical Blinnows. Medusal Slurkers and Flying Spotted Jellyfloats initiate aerial attacks, and a curving path through the coral forest leads to a small chamber with a mound of sand that conceals the Flexible Pail. A giant cage of bleached coral conceals the Coarse Surfboard, and to reach it, a nearby iron ball held tightly within a curled branch of coral must be pushed, causing it to tear through the coral cage and slam into the crystal wall behind it, cracking the glass. The hole deeper is located near a giant barrel sponge, surrounded by a ring of Coastal Sheargrubs.

Sublevel 4

A much more condensed, maze-like area. There are many paths to take, and some have distinct dangers to behold. A few Fiery Blowhogs will try to torch the leaders and Pikmin, and two pathways are guarded by Water Dumples. One pathway has high ledges made of the limestone coral reefs are built around, and Yellow Wollywogs will jump down from them. A third high ledge has the Battle Whistle on it, requiring Yellow Pikmin to get.

The other treasure, the Voltage Tanker, is hidden behind an electric gate, itself guarded by a Hermit Crawmad. Undoubtedly the biggest annoyance is the ridiculous amount of Seacaps, especially since they spread an obscuring mist around upon destruction. The hole is located down one of the two Water Dumple guarded paths, but as a nasty surprise, a Hermit Crawmad has nested inside of it. Defeat the crustacean or simply wait for it to lunge out to proceed.

Sublevel 5

The water surrounding this sublevel is slightly darker than the rest, and the environment is craggy and made of limestone. Goliath Clamclamps hold valuable pearls, but will use a pair of tongue-like tendrils to grab and eat Pikmin. The Precipitating Skysnail will spray drops of water wherever it flies, and Shingleshell Turrusks will shoot balls of water from the valves on their bodies. Use a geyser to reach a higher ledge. Some Elastic Mamutas will be waiting for incoming prey. Another geyser on that platform leads to a spire containing a Goliath Clamclamp and the Squishy Shogun.

A small dip in the terrain houses the Shingleshell Turrusks and the Toady Bloyster. Killing the Toady Bloyster gives access to the Gilded Oyster. Walk past this area to find the hole to the next sublevel.

Sublevel 6

This sublevel is a rest area with some nectar eggs for maturing Pikmin and a few candypop buds that interestingly are all Ivory Candypop Buds. White Pikmin will be revealed to be an absolute must for the boss up ahead.

Sublevel 7

This final sublevel takes place in a medium-sized circular arena full of bleached coral. There's what appears to be some sort of crop circle in the center of the arena. Walk towards it, and the Kraken Jellyfloat will descend from above. White Pikmin are essential for defeating the goliath. After its defeat, it drops the Punctured Bathysphere, which yields the Waterlined Suit upgrade, allowing leaders to move faster in water and rendering them immune to water attacks.
