While harmless, they sometimes ingest treasures, meaning that they must be defeated in order to obtain them. Upon being attacked, it will slowly flee.

Notes

Olimar's notes

A surprisingly harmless creature! Not even aggravated upon being attacked, it just simply attempts to flee.

Louie's cookbook

Remove the coral shell. Afterward, it can be cooked the same as a Sandbelching Meerslug.

The Coral Meerslug is a fully aquatic, slithering creature found in Pikmin Z. It is a legless, slug-like animal found underwater with a rocky covering on its back to mimic coral, the colors of which vary from yellow to blue to green to red. It was once a species on land until it slithered back into the sea. It holds little threat to Captain Alph and the Pikmin, as one throw of a Blue Pikmin easily disposes of one.

Notes

Piklopedia entry

The Coral Meerslug is the sole species of slug-like invertebrate that has fully adapted to life in the sea. Its back has hardened up to mimic the coral it inhabits.
