The Crammed Wraith is an shellter that sits idly, awake or asleep, blocking a path, until it detects Pikmin approaching. It will then walk backward quickly to push them away by using the tall shell on its back. A Crammed Wraith can be hurt by throwing Pikmin over its shell and landing them on its head, but a single bomb rock is sufficient in taking it out.

The Abyssal One is the Crammed Wraith that appears in Pikmin: Antarctic Survival. This title is not his actual name, with his true name being unknown. However, the Abyssal One introduces himself as such, and demands to always be addressed with this title.

The Abyssal One has an edgy and overly dramatic persona, speaking of shadows and death and violence in an attempt to seem like he is some sort of sealed being of great evil. He attempts to make deals with other Awakened creatures once he is Awakened, speaking and framing his offers in such a way that he seems like some sort of deal-making evil spirit.

In an attempt to sound dramatic and menacing, the Abyssal One speaks with an incredibly deep and malicious tone of voice. His natural voice is much higher pitched, as shown whenever he is scared or angered enough to "break character".

Ironically, the Abyssal One is incredibly cowardly, hiding in his shell if there is ever an actual threat or danger to his life. Despite pretending to be an incredibly powerful entity, the Abyssal One is actually quite weak and wants nothing to do with an actual fight.

The Abyssal One is one of the many creatures that were held in cryostasis in the Ruins of Awakening, escaping into the region once the area's power grid failed. He says that he was created and experimented on by scientists, subject to pain and suffering in an attempt to create the most powerful synthetic super-being that ever lived. Considering everything else that the Abyssal One lies about, it is very unlikely that any of this actually happened.

The Abyssal One's nickname and whole characterization make fun of the fact that the Crammed Wraith has "Wraith" in its name, despite not being a supernatural entity as is series tradition for all enemies named "wraith". The Abyssal One pretends to be an ancient eldritch being and tries to convince everyone else that he is, but he is really just a crustacean of some sort.

Attacks Pushes Pikmin back and crushes them

The Crammed Wraith is a species of shellter in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The crab resembles its original counterpart in Hey! Pikmin, but its shell may come in a variety of designs and colors based on the environment it lives in. The crab will only be found sleeping in cave corridors, or by dead ends, blocking treasures and cave entrances. If woken up, it will begin to walk backward, pushing all Pikmin back until they are crushed between it and a solid obstacle, being killed. The only way to defeat this creature is to charge Pikmin to push back at the Wraith. If fifty or more Pikmin are pushing back at the crab, it will flip over and reveal its body, allowing for the Pikmin to attack and kill it. Alternatively, the captain can try and find a way to get to the front of the crab, but that rarely happens. Weighted Pikmin and Purple Pikmin can easily overthrow the Wraith.

Notes

  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #1: Crammed Wraiths will attempt to crush you between a wall with their shell! Stop them by charging their backside with up to fifty Pikmin.
  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #2: Heavier Pikmin have an easier time overthrowing the Crammed Wraith!

Olimar's notes

This off-branch species of hermit crab tends to spend most of its day sleeping. It's only during the night when it wakes up that it decides to feed on its favorite food: pearls. Although it mainly hunts fish, the Wraith will tend to travel to areas where Pearly Clamclamps are found and steal their pearls to eat. Despite being nocturnal, it still won't be afraid to wake up and back predators into a wall with its unnervingly hard shell. It is usually seen sucking up the juices of crushed creatures.

Louie's notes

Crunchy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside! Crack open the hard plating of this crab and dig in! If you like to collect shells, this creature is ripe for the picking!

President’s notes

I wish I had a shell to hide in from predators. All I got is a dinky, dollar-store spacesuit. I kind of regret going budget mode after having all of my loot stolen.
