The Croaking Snarrow is a snavian boss in Pikmin Eco serving as the boss of Rooster's Nest. Its body is covered in red scales and has a small set of black-feathered wings at the back. Its head strongly resembles that of a rooster, having white feathers, a long yellow beak, a red snood, and lashes above its eyes.

During the first part of its fight, it won't fight head-on as it instead calls upon a set of Burrowing Snagrets to fight for it. It occasionally raises its wings and starts flapping them to produce a strong wind that blows the leaders and Pikmin back. The creature can't be damaged during this phase, as Pikmin are immediately pecked and eaten when thrown at it. When both snagrets are defeated, the Croaking Snarrow itself enters the fight, and only then can it be damaged, its weakpoint being its head. It fights similarly to a typical snagret: it burrows underground and emerges near its prey to peck at them before burrowing again. After shaking off some Pikmin, though, it creates wind gusts in whichever direction it is facing.

Notes

In-game entry

While it's not uncommon to read on the Burrowing Snarrow, this is the first specimen to actually be seen and observed. It follows a matriarch-like social structure with other snagrets, with the males of the species holding control over much of the flock. Its wings, while too weak for flight, are still surprisingly developed given its subterranean lifestyle. Given how the snavians evolved in the first place, this would make this snarrow a very old species.
