The Iceblown Slooch is a species of Slooch appearing in Pikmin Evolution. It is the icy polar opposite of the Pyroclasmic Slooch, being white and cyan instead of black and orange, and its body constantly quivers, almost as if shivering. The most noticeable aspect of the Slooch's appearance is the thin layer of frost covering its body, which gives it a slight damage reduction as long as it lasts. As could be assumed, the Slooch creates a trail of slippery ice behind itself as it crawls along the ground, and it doesn't thaw as long as the slooch remains alive. Aside from that, the Iceblown Slooch can also eat Pikmin with its sticky tongue.

With its body covered in frost, the Iceblown Slooch can only be attacked by Alloy Pikmin, which are resistant to cold temperatures. The frost coating it will disappear with enough attacks, and reappear if the creature is left alone for long enough. Notably, since it uses ice, the Iceblown Slooch is susceptible to fire. A single red syrup is enough to instantly kill one, making the substance instrumental in taking out a group of them, but not so much a single one, as they are relatively easy to dispatch. Overall, the Iceblown Slooch is a twist on a familiar enemy that prioritizes defense over offense, which is ultimately its undoing.

Notes

Ivy's journal

Nicknamed the "Frozen Kiss" among the locals, the Iceblown Slooch is the result of a recessive gene causing the Slooch to not produce its signature mucus that ignites in the air. To rectify this, the Iceblown Slooch drinks a large supply of water, which mixes into the mucus to a point where, after night falls and makes the area colder, the water inside freezes, causing the Slooch to develop an icy shell. Since this shell is technically unnatural, its body movements have become twitchy and more restricted, making it almost like its shivering.

Leni's recipe book

The Slooch's meat is a strange combination of savory and minty. Not my personal favorite taste, but it has its appeal. I suggest submerging the body into warm water so that the meat doesn't become hard and gamey.

Marvin's strategy guide

This "Frozen Kiss" clearly needs to get out more, since it can't handle the slightest amount of heat.

The Cryoclasmic Slooch is an slooch appearing in Pikmin: The Food Crisis. It is a close relative of the Pyroclasmic Slooch that adapted to a different environment. They are white in appearance, with blue stripes. When any Pikmin, except Ice Pikmin, touches it, it instantly freezes and, if it is not a Rock Pikmin, dies.

Notes

Olimar's notes

The Pyroclasmic Slooch, alongside other creatures, had to adapt to different environments due to the climatic changes that occurred on PNF-404. The Cryoclasmic Slooch completely lost its ability to produce fire since its highly-flammable skin became a protection against cold temperatures. Today, however, the Cryoclasmic Slooch possesses the capacity to produce liquid nitrogen, which allows it to freeze its prey before eating them.

Brittany's notes

This creature belongs to the same family as the Pyroclasmic Slooch, yet its behavior is completely different from that of the Pyroclasmic Slooch. The creatures bear a striking resemblance, but the Cryoclasmic Slooch tends to move faster, chase prey throughout an entire area, and be very aggressive. What paradoxical creatures... they're like Red and Ice Pikmin! They are so similar, although their capacities are completely different!

Louie's notes

This creature isn't edible due to its cold temperature, but you can use it to freeze your food very easily, no fridge required! The creature will not lose its unique coldness.
