In Pikmin X: Deep Freeze, the Crystalline Fingerslip flies a modest distance above the ground, carrying a hard crystal nodule in its legs. At the nearest sign of danger, the creature will jettison its heavy cargo onto potential predators such as Pikmin and flutter further away to find another one. Because it flies just high enough that thrown Pikmin will slam face-first into the fingerslip's crystal, Rock Pikmin are necessary to smash it in the creature's grasp and send it crashing to the ground. Yellow Pikmin can also be thrown high enough to reach this enemy and ground it without needing to break the crystal nodule.
