The Dark Ionpid is an ionpid in Pikmin Chronicles that has been infused with radiation. It has sharp teeth to eat Pikmin and bite captains with, and causes more damage to the captains through bites than other ionpids. A less lethal attack it possesses is depetalling Pikmin by slapping them with its tail. It also swims faster than other ionpids. The noises that Dark Ionpids make when idle sound like Jabu-Jabu's breathing from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
