Decorated Cannon Beetles have an appearance similar to Armored Cannon Beetle Larvae, but are red instead of green, and have orange eyes. They, too, spit out boulders, but their rocks home in on the currently active leader due to the magnetic field enveloping them.

In Pikmin 3 (Flish version), Decorated Cannon Beetle Larvae behave similarly to Armored Cannon Beetle Larvae but are unarmored. They can injure and kill themselves merely by running in circles, although this process takes a long time. Purple Pikmin should be used to put them out of their misery.
