The Drill Pumphog is a species of blowhog appearing in Pikmin: Spark. They have a brown face and tan body with eyes and a trunk that are both yellow. Dwelling in dens, they are an underground counterpart to the Telescoping Pumphog that use their burrowing abilities as more of a measure of offense rather than mobility. After digging into the ground, it tries to emerge from the ground underneath its prey, scattering them before spraying a close-range stream of small rocks to finish them off. Unlike other pumphogs, Drill Pumphogs don't have a set number of holes they use to attack, making them harder to track. They are most vulnerable to aerial attacks while coming out of the ground, being weak to the stuns from Purple Pikmin pounds. They also have the same vulnerabilities of being hit in the face as the other pumphogs. Like other pumphogs, they don't leave any remains upon death, and instead leave behind a small quantity of sparklium or pellets when defeated.

Notes

Abel's medical journal

The stomach muscles of this creature are lined with minerals that could easily tarnish my medical supplies, so I'm not keen on examining it.

Lyn's sale review

For those wishing to safely mine for rare gems and metals, domesticating this surprisingly docile creature can help a lot in finding underground riches.
