The Dwarf Pufferspine is a juvenile pufferpop appearing in Pikmin: The Mystery Potion. It can not impale Pikmin because it has not fully developed its spines, but it can inflate its body to become airborne and then deflate to crush a Pikmin it lands on. Upon death, a Dwarf Pufferspine will pop, reverting the maturities of all Pikmin caught in its range to the leaf stage. The Pufferpop's design is based on Pop Thorn, a character in the Skylanders franchise.
