The Elephant Long Legs is an arachnorb and the boss of Dead G, an area appearing in Pikmin: Rise of the Plantae. It has gray, leathery skin and a trunk that it uses to suck up Pikmin and feed upon them, and gives it its name. The Elephant Long Legs possesses four legs, but unlike other arachnorbs, two of these legs function as arms.
Purple Pikmin are the method of choice when battling the Elephant Long Legs due to its arena being covered in purple goop, which pulls other Pikmin types into it and only they are unaffected by. Another advantage Purple Pikmin have is the Elephant Long Legs' trunk being in range of having Purple Pikmin thrown at it and causing heavy damage. To start the battle, approach the Elephant Long Legs to provoke it into sucking up Pikmin through its trunk, dodging out of the way so it inhales purple goop instead, causing it to become helpless and vulnerable as it struggles to purge the sludge from its trunk. When the Elephant Long Legs reaches half-health, it will begin walking faster and using the purple goop to its advance by attempting to catch Pikmin with it. Purple Pikmin are immune to this attack. Upon defeat, it drops a treasure called the Waterproof Warrior.
