The Enraged Cannon Beetle Larva is the only newborn lithopod encountered in Pikmin 3. If not destroyed before they can, they hatch from eggs laid occasionally by the Enraged Cannon Beetle during the battle against it. Black with glowing red eyes, half the size of typical cannon beetle larvae, and with steam constantly emanating from their blowholes, they shoot out half-sized boulders twice as fast as regular larvae and purposely avoid other boulders. The eggs found throughout the story are revealed to be rotten cannon beetle eggs.
